Accessing the Microsoft Security Info Update Page

Note: We cannot assist with password or Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) issues over email due to security reasons. Users must call or visit the GBIT Service Desk in person for these issues.

Users must know their current password to visit the Microsoft Security Info Update Page. The page is available here: Microsoft Security Info Update Page (mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info)

Updating Alternative Email

NOTE: Users must know their current password to update their alternative email address.

  1. Head to the Microsoft Security Info Update Page and sign in.
  2. Go to the Security Info tab.
    • If there is an email listed and it is no longer updated, click "Change."
    • Type in the new email and press "Next." A code will be sent to the new email to verify it belongs to you.
    • Enter the verification code to complete the update.

Adding an Alternative Email

  1. If there is no email listed, click "Add sign-in method."
  2. In the dropdown menu, select "Email" and click "Add."
    • Enter your alternative email and click "Next."
    • A code will be sent to the new email to verify it belongs to you.
    • Enter the verification code to complete the addition.

Removing an Old Email

  1. Head to the Microsoft Security Info Update Page and sign in.
  2. Go to the Security Info tab.
    1. Click "Delete" on the old email.
    2. Confirm the deletion if prompted.
