  1. Close all instances of Statistics 29 on your Desktop.

  2. Select "Go" then "Go to Folder"

Go in Finder

     3. In the search bar, navigate to the ../lib sub directory in the Statistics 29 Desktop installation path (e.g. "/Applications/IBM SPSS Statistics/SPSS Statistics.app/Contents/lib/")

     4. Locate the file "libplatdep.dylib", then Right click, Copy.

       5. Right click and Paste the file to a separate location, such as your Downloads folder or your Desktop. This will allow us to backup the old file.

       7. Right click and Open the file from this location (e.g. Downloads). This will unpack a folder with the new fixed files.

      8.  In the new folder, Right click, then Copy the following interim fix files to the v29 installation folder libplatdep.dylib (from Step 4).

       9. Right click, Paste the new file into the original file location.

      10. A Pop Up will show, click "Replace".

NOTE: These last two steps may not occur for you. If they do not, that is okay.

      11. Another Pop Up will show, enter your Computer login information.

      12. A Command Prompt will follow after completing Step 11. You will need to type "sudo chmod 755 /Applications/IBM\ SPSS\ Statistics/SPSS\ Statistics.app/Contents/lib/libplatdep.dylib" exactly. When it asks for a Password, enter your Computer login password. ***Keep in mind this will ONLY work if your account is an admin account OR you are the only user on the device.***

      13. You can now launch SPSS, license it, and begin using the program.
